'- Your requirements after enrolling with us will be: Submit a letter of intent annually with an education plan to local superintendent (these forms will be provided to you in the Parent Portal), create a plan with the superintendent regarding end of year assessments (Bridge works to help you avoid these whenever possible) - Bridge Academy is currently in the process of seeking approval as a registered private school in the state of Massachusetts. Until that is finalized, Bridge students must register as homeschoolers in their resident district. In Massachusetts, each individual school district makes the decisions for how homeschooling is regulated; and there is precedent for a non-restrictive homeschooling experience that does not include end of year assessments. When you submit your letter of intent, we will include a comprehensive Bridge Academy education plan that aligns with the MA state standards, and make a formal request to not have end of year assessments administered to the district. We can not guarantee this will gain approval, but we will do everything in our power to assist you with this request and appeals as needed. This request needs to only be approved ONCE - after that, as long as you remain enrolled with Bridge Academy, you can remain in the same status. At whatever point Bridge Academy becomes approved as an in-state private school, we will help you with the withdrawal and transfer process. - In Massachusetts, there is no state law stating that homeschoolers are eligible to participate in sports and interscholastic activities by default; this will be left to the local public school’s discretion. If this is something you desire, Bridge Academy will offer whatever documentation or support needed to help you make that request to the local school.
