'- Your requirements after enrolling with us will be: Fill out enrollment notice, submit copy of child’s birth certificate, submit copy of parent high school or college diploma, and submit copy of child’s vaccine records or exemption form (Bridge Academy provides these instructions and forms inside the Parent Portal) - In North Dakota, there are more restrictions placed on private schools than on homeschoolers, so we chose to remain in operation here as an out of state virtual school to provide our families with adequate support and documentation, without having to require testing. Your child will still be considered a private school student as well, and will have records showing this. - If your child has a current IEP, we will need a copy of this to add to your child’s file. Please be aware that because we are a virtual school, we cannot fulfill any support services that may currently be a part of your child’s plan (however, we find that most support needs that are required for a neurodiverse child in a classroom are often unnecessary once they are home and learning in a less restrictive environment). - While Bridge Academy does not ask for your child’s vaccine/medical information to have on file, you are required to submit records or proof of exemption the first time you file notice with the state. They may also be required to participate in public school interscholastic activities or sports, so we recommend keeping these on file personally. - In North Dakota, there is no specific state law stating that homeschoolers are allowed to participate in local public school sports or interscholastic activities - this is left up to the discretion of the individual local school. If this is something you desire, Bridge Academy will offer whatever documentation or support needed to help you make that request to the local school.
